the aftermath of memorial day weekend

The night we returned from our St George trip
I was having pain in my stomache area.
To make a long story short...
I ended up in the ER with pyelonephritis,
a severe (and extremely painful) kidney infection.

It was the result of a UTI gone bad.
Apparently I had a UTI while in St George
and it wasn't until I got home and got diagnosed with pyelonephritis
that I realized all the symptoms I did have.
Duh!!

After several days of the ER and doctors visits for shots
I wasn't getting any better.
So I went back to the hospital for a CT scan and found.....
KIDNEY STONES.
Joy!

They say that pyelonephritis and kidney stones
are about the two most painful things people get.
I had the both.
At the same time.

Luckily, we have great family and friends
who helped take care of us
And I passed my kidney stones
and all is back to normal.

Cross your fingers I don't get any more
and PRAY you never have to have them.

**Update: Infection is not gone.
Another round of antibiotics hopefully will help save me.

Sheesh! I hope your infection goes away fast. I'm a wimp so I'm sure kidney stones would kill me...

So sorry!! Hope you get feeling better fast! U T I infections are horrible so I can't even imagine kidney stones on top of it! I hear they are as painful as child birth... I hope you had some drugs to get through it... I would have asked for an epidural!

i've seen my father cry from kidney stones, shake, and lay on the ground like he was literally dying. i'm so sorry.

but kolt's cousin had three during her pregnancy so i guess it could be worse. You could have to do it percocet free. i hope they give you good drugs.
